Regional Academic Day
On Thursday, the 25th of May, eight eager and intellectually curious Year 6 students took part in the Regional Academic Day at Queen of the Apostles Catholic School.
Competing against seven other schools, the day revolved around each team being given two academic tasks at the same time. No mean feat to say the very least.
The challenges included code-breaking, engineering, poetry and art, mathematics, English, general knowledge and science.
Given that the accompanying teachers could take no part whatsoever in guiding or advising the students, the budding brainiacs from Corpus demonstrated their mettle with seamless teamwork, collaboration and unbridled enthusiasm.
Anna De Lucia (who accompanied me with the students), Carma de Groot (Head of Teaching and Learning K-6 who was the driving force behind entering the Corpus team) and myself could not be prouder of the eight students who participated in the competition.
They are credit to Corpus Christi College, and I commend them on their capacity to push the boundaries of their intellects.
