Visual Arts Gallery Visit
Year 11 and 12 Visual Art ATAR students recently got the chance to visit the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery at UWA. Accompanied by Mrs Pannell, Mrs Fabris and Mr Bly, students explored the gallery, analysing and comparing several modern Australian landscape pieces as well as understanding more on the various types of techniques and mediums utilised by artist.
The day gave students the opportunity to browse various collections of works, enjoy themselves and also find inspirations and ideas to possibly implicate in their own pieces. It was great to not only further their knowledge on artistic techniques and composition, but also just a great chance to see works from the wider community. The University of WA provides various collections of works on various topics, including landscapes, sculptures and feminism and being able to see all of these was greatly beneficial.
