Italian Exchange
Italian Exchange
We were excited to welcome Tommaso Pietripaoli, an Italian exchange student, who joined us in Week 11. Tommaso was hosted by Year 11 student Zachary Wong as part of the WAATI (Western Australia Association of Teachers of Italian)/Intercultural Program. This reciprocal exchange program was designed for students learning Italian in Western Australian schools and students learning English in Italy.
Tommaso stayed with us until August 16th, and we hoped he enjoyed the exceptional opportunities our College offered. As part of the same program, Zachary spent about two months in Italy over the summer holiday, immersing himself in Italian daily life, culture, and language. We wished both Tommaso and Zachary a fantastic exchange experience!
Recently, we bid farewell to Tommaso, who completed his two-month exchange program. Hosted by Zachary and his family, Tommaso fully immersed himself in College life. He attended regular classes, participated in the Year 11 retreat, contributed to our Athletics Carnival, and joined various extracurricular activities.
On August 10th, a farewell event was held for Tommaso and his fellow exchange students. They expressed gratitude to their host families, schools, teachers, and the WAATI-Intercultura program. The occasion was touching, highlighting the strong bonds formed between the Italian students and their Australian hosts.
We wished Tommaso a safe journey home and looked forward to hearing about Zachary’s reciprocal exchange experience during the upcoming summer break.
A presto!
