ACC Cross Country
The ACC Cross Country Carnival was held on Thursday 1 June under clear sunny skies at Perry Lakes Reserve.
Thank you to all our courageous athletes and their families who came out to support the Corpus Team.
With some 80 schools competing and around 4,000 competitors, Corpus achieved 13th in the Overall Aggregate Shield.
Other pleasing category results were:
U14 Boys 4th
U15 Boys 2nd
U15 Age Group 5th
Boys Overall 7th
Unfortunately, the team was hampered by significant illness and injury, and although we fell short of our Top 10 goal, the effort and attitude of all our runners on the day was brilliant.
We had many outstanding individual results:
Darren Fernandez (Capt) Yr 12 2nd
Max Buiks Yr 9 3rd
Jude Pitcher Yr 8 5th
Lachlan Angelatos Yr 9 16th
Mason Fidcewicz Yr 9 17th
Henrique Peres Yr 8 25th
Chloe Wong Yr 11 26th
Charlie Robbins Yr 9 28th
Oscar Cordina Yr 8 30th
Callum Morgan Yr 9 35th
Griffin Angelatos Yr 7 35th
Isabella Alves-Veira Yr 11 41st
Apart from these sensational individual performances, the most pleasing aspect of the day was the positive 'team first' attitude along with the courage and determination demonstrated by each and every one of our athletes.
Thanks especially to our dedicated running coaches Mr Reno Sinagra, Mr Michael Royall and Ms Natalia Ciavarro.
We hope to see all our athletes continuing with Running Club and Athletics Club offerings and maintaining fitness in preparation for the upcoming Athletics season.
All results from the ACC Cross Country Carnival are now available on the ACC website, here and the College SPORTAL.
