Senior Interhouse Cross Country

On Tuesday 4 of April 2023, the Interhouse Cross Country Carnival was held with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship displayed by all students. Congratulations to all participants on their outstanding effort, regardless of their position in the race.

As with past years, the results have been calculated based on the finishing position of students within their Year and Gender group. Similar to the ACC Cross Country, the lowest number of points wins the Carnival. For instance, a student who finishes in the first position earns one point for their house, while a student who finishes in the second position earns two points, and so on, for all students who completed the race in under 30 minutes. To ensure that no house is disadvantaged, the calculation considers an even number of competitors from each house.

We are proud to acknowledge one remarkable individual performance during this year's Interhouse Cross Country Carnival. Darren Fernandez, a Year 12 student, broke David Smith’s record of 9mins 38 secs set in 2021 for the 3km course. Darren completed the course in an outstanding time of 9mins and 5 seconds, maintaining an elite pace of just a fraction over 3 minutes per km. Congratulations, Darren, on this extraordinary achievement!

Overall, the Interhouse Cross Country Carnival was a fantastic day, showcasing the excellent sporting abilities and camaraderie of our students. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the event's success, including our hardworking staff and supportive parents. Congratulations once again to all participants, and we look forward to another exciting Carnival next year.
