Sustainability at Corpus in 2020

The launch of the sustainability initiative was introduced to Middle School students at the end of 2019, along with a showing of the documentary film "2040", which envisions a credible, sustainable future for generations to come. Spearheaded by the Sustainability Committee (chaired by Sustainability Coordinator Mrs Melissa Baines), the initiative starts the new year with some exciting developments:

Sustainability Club

In 2020 Corpus will have a new club that focuses on all things sustainable, whether it be how to grow your own food, mend clothes or campaign for greater community action. This new club needs a name that reflects the uniqueness of the Corpus community. If you have a suggestion, please fill in the form below:

Name the Corpus Sustainability Club

We will also be running a club logo competition in early 2020.

Bottled water free in 2020

The Corpus Cafeteria will be going bottled water free from Term 1 2020. This is due to evidence from our waste audit of a large number of plastic bottles going straight to landfill. The cafeteria records show that the water total count to date is 600ml x 5,108 bottles and 1.5L x 131. Students are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles and make use of the many refrigerated drink fountains around the College grounds. The College will also have reusable stainless steel water bottles with a sipper lid available for purchase. Corpus is committed to a sustainable future and reducing our waste footprint in 2020.
