Air Pressure Show
Year 8 students took part in a show all about air pressure in the Sadler breakout area, where they were able to experience the effect air pressure has on us.
Students saw how a feather and a ball drop at the same time in a vacuum and how air pressure alone can lift a student (but not Mr O’Callaghan!). The highlight for the students was seeing the effect of liquid air and how it evaporates into a gaseous form even when spilt on the carpet in Sadler with no damage done. The students saw how liquid air can cause a squash ball to be broken into tiny pieces and to the surprise of the students, how liquid air can cause a lid to fly off a tin can and hit the ceiling!
