Student Success - Creativity
Creativity is the ability to generate and communicate original ideas and appreciate the nature of beauty. It fosters imagination and innovation.
We inspire creativity when we encourage young people to express themselves through writing, poetry, acting, photography, art, digital media, unstructured play, etc. When we notice and praise them for thinking outside the box and taking risks, their imaginations blossom.
Can we learn to be smarter and more creative?

STUDENT LEADERSHIP 2019
In coming weeks, Years 7 to 9 have will have the opportunity to step up and take the courageous leap of nominating for Student Leadership for 2019.
The positions of House Representative, Ministry Representative, Sports Representative, Arts Representative and Communications Representative are all open to those who wish to step up and be part of a community of Student Leaders intent on continuing the great things happening at Corpus as well as to work to improve our community. Details of how positions are allocated will soon be available on the Year 7, 8 and 9 Portals.
The preferential voting system will be used to allow the Year 7’s and 8’s to demonstrate their civic duty, which complements the Humanities Civics programme currently being undertaken.
The students nominating for Committee positions in the areas of Ministry, Sports, Arts or Communications will have the opportunity to attend an interview and explain why they believe they are the best person for the representative position.
All students who consider these leadership opportunities are to be commended for their willingness to support the College and offer service to their peers.
Year 6 Fun Day
We are very much looking forwards to welcoming the Year 6’s as part of their transition into Corpus Christi College in 2019 on Tuesday the 23 October.
Thank you to the Arts Learning Area for planning the delivery of an action-packed day.
Endeavour Awards Term Three
Congratulations to the recipients of the Endeavour Awards that were presented by Mr Italiano in our Year Group Assembly. It was excellent to see such a large portion of our cohort receiving these accolades. Thank you to the large turnout of parents who attended to show their support, it is encouraging to see such substantial numbers of proud parents.
At this stage in the term I would like to encourage parents to work with our Students to revisit their Smart Goals in SEQTA, this is one strategy to help ensure continued progression in our students’ studies. As we enter the last portion of the school year, it is hugely important that we have a continued push towards the achievement of the targets that students have set.
Year 8 and 9 Camps 2019
As a part of the Pastoral Care program at the College, we develop and facilitate programs to respond to and address the social issues raised by our students. The programs are designed around four key pillars:
Social Development
Faith Formation
Wellbeing
Striving for Excellence.
In 2019, we plan to add to this program and have developed an overnight, Year 8 Camp which will be held on Thursday 14th February – Friday 15th February (Term 1, Week 2) at Swan Valley Adventure Centre, Middle Swan. Year 8 camps will continue every year starting in 2019. We will also run a Year 9 Camp only for 2019 on the 7th and 8th of March (Term 1 Week 5).
The overnight camp will provide possibilities for enhancing resilience, teamwork and leadership, while developing relationships in ways different from, but complementary to, those of the classroom and school environment.
Structure and Process of the Camp:
The Camp activities are structured to help develop resilience, teamwork and leadership.
Students will be broken into small groups and will take part in a variety of team challenges, organised by College staff and led by Swan Valley Adventure Centre staff. Students will rotate through the activities over the two days.
Leisure time and meals are essential aspects of the Camp and work towards unifying the group, as well as meeting their social needs, helping to develop positive relationships. All meals are provided, and individual dietary needs will be accounted for.
Further information regarding the Camp will follow this Term.
Year 9
It was wonderful to be able to begin our term with a celebration of Year 9 Term 3 achievement. Seventy-one students received Certificates for Endeavour. These certificates are awarded to students who have demonstrated a consistent effort in their classes, cooperated positively and completed class tasks with rigour. They are to be congratulated for making the most of every opportunity and taking the chance to start fresh each day and be better!
Term 4 will see the students continue to work and focus on their academic achievement, alongside the College Pastoral Program. The Year 9 students have two more Pastoral Periods, one in week three and the second in week 4. These will focus on ‘Achieving our goals’ and ‘Careers’.
We look forward to another term of opportunity!
