Junior School Athletics Carnival

  • Corpus Christi College 50 Murdoch Drive Bateman, WA, 6150 Australia (map)

The carnival will run over two days, with all our main events running on day two. We encourage families to get dressed up in their house colours and come down to cheer on the day.

Information for Parents:

All track events will be officially timed by Timing Solutions with the use of timing gates at the finish line. This not only ensures the accuracy of our results but also enables the College to establish all-time records for Division 1 events.

This year all students in Years 3-6 will be participating in the Field Events (Shot Put, Discus, Turbo Jav and Long Jump). In addition to this each student from K-6 will take part in a minimum of a sprint race (60m/80m/100m) and a tabloid event.

Another addition in 2023 will be the awarding of Champion and Runner-Up Boy and Girl for Years 3-6. Points for this are awarded for all championship events (400m/200m/Div 1 Sprint Races/Field Events).

Parents and extended family are warmly welcome to attend on both Monday and Tuesday. Please note that the tent bays are reserved for students and staff only and we ask that no parents congregate in this area during the carnival. Staff will direct you on the day to the designated family spectator areas. Normal student signing in and signing out procedures will continue on both days.

House coloured ribbons, zinc, face paint, streamers and hair spray are all permitted (as long as they are used in a sensible manner).

Students should refrain from bringing sweets or lollies.

What to wear:

  • Sports Uniform with their house-coloured shirt.

  • Kindy – clothes they can be active and run around in.

  • Hat.

What to bring:

  • Sunscreen

  • Water bottle

  • Packed recess and lunch

Students are encouraged to get into the spirit of the carnival; therefore, coloured zinc, ribbons and props are allowed.
