Min Woo Lee continues to shine as one of Australia’s most talented golfers, now firmly established as a rising star on the global stage. After turning professional in 2019, Min Woo has achieved remarkable success, including his first PGA Tour victory at the Houston Open in 2025. This milestone win saw him fend off world number one Scottie Scheffler and other top competitors, cementing his place among golf’s elite.

Min Woo’s career highlights include five professional victories across the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, Australasian Tour, and Asian Tour. He has also represented Australia at the Paris 2024 Olympics and the Presidents Cup, showcasing his skill and dedication on the international stage. His consistent performances have earned him top-25 finishes in five of the last nine major championships, including a standout T-5 at the 2023 U.S. Open.

A member of the Royal Fremantle Golf Club, Min Woo’s journey began in junior amateur tournaments during his secondary school years. Sports Coordinator James Howard recalls Min Woo as a humble and well-mannered student who excelled in multiple sports, including basketball, swimming, and athletics, while balancing his golfing commitments. ‘Min took pride in representing the College and enjoyed playing for and with his mates,’ Howard shared.

Min Woo draws inspiration from his older sister Minjee Lee (Class of 2013), a two-time major champion and one of Australia’s top-ranked female golfers. Together, they have made history as the first siblings to win on the respective PGA and LPGA Tours. Their shared achievements highlight the Lee family’s legacy in golf and serve as an inspiration to aspiring athletes.

Former Head of Year Simon Messer reflects on Min Woo’s time at the College: ‘Min had the ingredients to be successful—goals, determination, an excellent work ethic, and a hunger for improvement. He was polite, respectful, and always put the needs of others before his own. We are incredibly proud to see his hard work paying off.’

The College remains committed to supporting student athletes who excel in sports both at school and beyond, hoping current students will be inspired by Min Woo’s and Minjee’s international successes.
