Frequently Asked Questions

When will the amalgamation go ahead?

During the 2021 school year a Transition Advisory Council (comprising representatives of both schools and the parish) will consult with the local community and staff from the Catholic Education Office to make informed decisions around the many aspects of the new K-12 Corpus Christi College.

The new K-12 Corpus Christi College will begin officially on 1 January 2022.

Enrolments

How do I apply for enrolment during 2021?

Until 1 January 2022, both Corpus Christi College and Yidarra Catholic Primary Schools application processes will remain separate until we commence as a new K-12 College in 2022.

For all Kindy to Year 6 applications – all enrolments should be conducted through Yidarra Catholic Primary School. Information on their enrolment process can be accessed via their website: www.yidarra.wa.edu.au

For all Years 7 – 12 applications – all enrolments should be conducted through Corpus Christi College. Information on their enrolment process can be accessed via their website: www.corpus.wa.edu.au

How do I apply for enrolment from 2022?

Please visit the Enrolments home page: www.corpus.wa.edu.au/enrolments

If my child is currently in Year 6 at Yidarra Catholic Primary School do I need to apply to Corpus Christi College?

Yes. We understand and appreciate that not all students enrolled at Yidarra Catholic Primary School go on to study at Corpus Christi College. Therefore, we ask all families who would like their child to commence at Corpus Christi College in Year 7 2022 to submit an application if they have not already done so. This can be done via: www.corpus.wa.edu.au/apply

Please note: Orientation and transition information will become available in August 2021 to commencing Year 7 2022 students.

If my child attends Yidarra Catholic Primary School, will they automatically be accepted into Corpus Christi College?

From 1 January 2022, both Yidarra Catholic Primary School and Corpus Christi College will be amalgamated to be one, K-12 school. This ensures that students enrolled at Yidarra Catholic Primary School will automatically be accepted into the new Corpus Christi College.

Fees

What will be the fees for the new K-12 Corpus Christi College?

While the final amounts for the various fees and charges will not be finalised and endorsed until November 2021, our aim is for the current fees to apply in 2022. The only potential change pertains to the yearly Catholic Education Western Australia system recommended increase (if applicable) which we will communicate once confirmed.

As we are committed to developing a genuine K-12 campus which supports student accesses to quality educational facilities across all year groups, we will confirm our fee structure, including building levies, after thorough financial modelling next year.

To find out more about the fees for Year 7 to 12 at Corpus Christi College, visit: www.corpus.wa.edu.au/fees-charges

Will there be a sibling discount at the new K-12 Corpus Christi College?

As we bring together both schools, we also look forward to celebrating our current families and have defined a generous new sibling discount rate for our K-12 College.

From Term 1, 2022, a sibling discount of 20% will be applied to the tuition fee of a second child from the same family, 40% for a third child and 100% for fourth and subsequent siblings. These discounts will apply across the whole school from Pre-Primary to Year 12 inclusive.

Will the Building/Capital Development Levy change for 2022?

The Building Levy/Capital Development Levy is a fee paid by each family to support the development and maintenance of facilities at a school or college. The building levies as they currently exist at both Yidarra Catholic Primary School and Corpus Christi College will remain the same during 2022. That is, from 2022 families with their eldest child enrolled in:

  • Kindergarten - The building levy of $300 will apply.

  • Pre-Primary to Year 6 - a building levy of $431 per family will apply.

  • Years 7 to 12 - a building levy of $1,597 per family will apply.
